LG Rolly Keyboard 2 official, gains a fifth row of keys

Last year, LG surprised us with the Rolly Keyboard, a roll-up Bluetooth keyboard designed for smartphones and tablets. Fast-forward eight months and LG has taken the wraps off of the new version of its roll-up keyboard.

The LG Rolly Keyboard 2 is now official, and it offers a few improvements over its predecessor. Perhaps the most obvious is that it’s got an extra row of keys, giving it five rows instead of four. That extra row is dedicated to numbers and special characters, and can also be used for F1-F12 keys with the Fn button.

The Rolly Keyboard 2 also allows you to connect up to three devices at once, and it includes Bluetooth 1, Bluetooth 2, and Bluetooth 3 keys to help you switch between your connected devices. Also included is a tab at the bottom of the Rolly Keyboard 2 to make it easier to open the keyboard.

LG’s new Rolly Keyboard 2 measures 274 x 31.7 x 30.7mm, connects using Bluetooth 3.0, and is powered by a single AAA battery. It’s compatible with devices running Android 4.0 and up, iOS 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.7 and up, and Windows 7 or later.

Pricing for the LG Rolly Keyboard 2 will be set at 129,000 South Korean Won, or around $112. There’s no mention of US availability in LG’s announcement, but LG does offer the original Rolly Keyboard through its US site, so it’s possible that the Rolly Keyboard 2 could make its way stateside, too. If a mobile keyboard that rolls up to reduce its size sounds good to you, keep an eye out.
