Earlier this week, a Google employee revealed that the latest Nexus 5X update brings performance improvements along with the March security updates. Now it’s been confirmed that the Nexus 6P is getting a similar update.
Orrin, the same Nexus Community Manager that detailed the aforementioned Nexus 5X update, says that an update is now rolling out to the Nexus 6P that includes “a number of bug fixes that will improve overall stability and performance.” The update is build MHC19I and is making its way to the Nexus 6P over the air.
The Nexus 6P is a bit more high-end than the Nexus 5X, offering an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM compared to the 5X’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808 and 2GB of RAM. Bug fixes and stability improvements are still worth getting excited about, though, because many of us rely on our smartphone for communication, entertainment, and more, so it’s important that they work well.
If you’ve got a Nexus 6P, be on the lookout for this update. You can check for it manually by going into Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update.
