One of the main perks of Amazon Prime is free two-day shipping on all of your orders, but Amazon also offers free standard shipping for non-Prime members, so long as their order reaches a certain total. Recently, that total has changed.
Amazon has quietly upped the amount that you’ll have to spend to get free standard shipping on your orders. That minimum used to be $35, but it’s now $49. If you’re a reader, you can get free shipping if your order contains at least $25 of books.
A one-year Amazon Prime membership costs $99, and with that you get free two-day shipping, whereas the free standard shipping is typically a bit slower. In addition to that free two-day shipping, a Prime membership gets you access to more than one million songs with Prime Music, free movie and TV streaming with Prime Video, unlimited photo storage, and more. Prime has long been a good deal for folks that regularly shop at Amazon, but now that the free shipping threshold has been raised, Prime may be even more appealing to anyone that’s not already a member.
