After being the subject of a few leaks, it looks like we might be getting our first peek at the LG G5 today.
Several photos of what may be the LG G5 have found their way online. Shared by Droid-Life, the images show a smartphone that’s inside of a dummy case that’s meant to hide the phone’s identity. However, what we can see of the device lines up with alleged LG G5 renders that’ve leaked previously. For example, the back of this device has an oval-shaped camera housing with two sensors as well as a round fingerprint reader.
Meanwhile, the two sides of this phone are home to the volume rocker and microSD slot, which also line up with a previously leaked render. The front of the phone has its camera in its upper left corner, and on the bottom of the device we can see speaker cutouts and a USB Type-C port.
Right now, there’s no guarantee that the phone inside of this bulky case is the LG G5. There are no visible LG markings and most of the actual device is obscured by the case. The parts that we can see do line appear to line up with what previous LG G5 leaks have hinted at, though, so there is a chance that it could be LG’s next Android flagship hiding inside that bulky case.
As a refresher, the LG G5 is expected to offer a flagship-level spec list that includes a 5.3-inch 2560x1440 display, a secondary display like the one found on the LG V10, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 16-megapixel rear camera with second sensor or wide-angle shots, microSD slot, 32GB of storage, and 3GB of RAM. LG is also said to be throwing in a 2800mAh battery that can be removed by the user, possibly thanks to a detachable bit on the bottom of the phone.
LG is hosting an event at MWC on February 21, and it’s possible that we could see the G5 debut there. Based on what we’ve seen of it so far, are you interested in the LG G5?
