Google has been working hard to push Android Pay since its launch in September, and today another promo has been discovered.
Dubbed “Tap 10,” the program tasks you with using Android Pay and its tap to pay feature in stores 10 times by February 29. Google promises that you’ll get rewards as you make progress, like free song downloads from Google Play Music. And once you hit the 10th tap, you’ll get a free Chromecast.
The Tap 10 promo is randomly appearing for select users when they launch the Android Pay app today. I’m not seeing it on my Android Pay app, despite having updated to the latest version and adding a valid credit card. Google hasn’t made any announcements about Tap 10, so it’s unclear if it’ll eventually be available to everyone or if only some people will get access.
This new Android Pay promo looks pretty nice. The free songs may only be worth $1.29 or so, but you’re getting free song downloads for simply using your phone to pay for goods that you might normally be buying anyway. Getting a free Chromecast for using Android Pay 10 times is awesome, because Chromecasts normally cost $35 and you can use it all the time in your day-to-day life. Here’s to hoping that Google expands the Tap 10 promo to more folks.
