The BlackBerry Priv is now available on AT&T and it’s confirmed as “coming soon” to Verizon. And if a new leak is to be believed, it’ll soon hit T-Mobile as well.
The folks at Phone Arena have posted a photo that allegedly shows an internal T-Mobile calendar. And right there on the 26th is an entry that reads “BlackBerry Venice Launch.” Venice is the codename that the BlackBerry Priv went by before it launched, so the name matches up, though it’s kind of strange that T-Mo is referring to the Priv by its codename nearly two months after its launch.
T-Mobile customers have actually been able to use the BlackBerry Priv on their network since the device’s launch in November, as the Priv is fully compatible with T-Mo, including band 12 LTE and Wi-Fi Calling. The only way to do that is to buy the unlocked Priv for $699 directly from BlackBerry, though. If T-Mobile begins offering the Priv, it’ll likely be available on a monthly installment plan and T-Mo’s JUMP! upgrade program, which would provide more buying options for folks that can’t or don’t want to shell out $700 at once.
T-Mo hasn’t said anything about selling the BlackBerry Priv, but if this leak is true, we should hear official word sometime in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
