If you’ve got a Moto G (3rd Gen.) and are living in North America, Motorola has a holiday surprise for you.
Owners of the Moto G (3rd Gen.) are reporting on Reddit that they’re now getting their Android 6.0 update. The update appears to be hitting unlocked devices in both the US and Canada, though because these updates typically go out in stages, it may take some time for everyone in those countries to get updated.
To check for an update on your Moto G (3rd Gen.), head into the Settings app and then go into “About phone” and tap “System updates.”
Motorola previously said that the Moto G (3rd Gen.) would be updated to Android 6.0, so it’s no surprise to see the update rolling out. It’s still a welcome sight, though, and I’m sure that Moto G owners are pretty excited to be getting Marshmallow before most other non-Nexus phones. Today’s Moto G update, combined with the recent Moto X Pure Edition and Moto X (2nd Gen.) updates, show that Motorola can still be quick when it comes to OS upgrades.
