Two months after the LG G4 started receiving its Android 6.0 update in Poland, the G4’s Marshmallow update has made its way to the US.
Sprint says that its version of the LG G4 is now getting an update to Android 6.0. The update also adds support for Sprint Global Roaming, a feature that gives free texting and 2G data as well as 20 cents per minute calling in several countries. The G4’s update is version LS991ZV6.
Sprint has been pretty quick with Android OS updates in the past, and it looks like that’s continuing with Android 6.0. Earlier this year, LG announced that the G4 was the first to get Android 6.0 updates (after Nexuses, of course), and so it’s no surprise to see the G4 getting Marshmallow before other Android flagships. What is interesting is that Sprint managed to get its G4 updated to Android 6.0 before 2015 came to an end. Good on ya, Sprint and LG.
If you’ve got an LG G4 on Sprint, you can check for this update by heading into Settings > General > System updates > Update LG software > Check for Update.
