Earlier this year, Google officially launched the Nexus 5X, the spiritual successor to 2013’s Nexus 5. If for some reason you’re not quite feeling the 5X, though, you can now snag a Nexus 5 on the cheap.
Daily Steals is now selling a 16GB Nexus 5 for $149.99. The units that are being sold are certified refurbished and are the LG-D820 model, which supports 3G HSPA 800/850/1700/1900/2100/900 and LTE bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 17, 19, 25, 26, and 41. You do get a choice between a white or black Nexus 5.
The original Nexus 5 is 2 years old, and so as you might expect, its specs aren’t exactly bleeding edge. As a refresher, it offers a 4.95-inch 1920x1080 display, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 2GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 800 processor. For $150, though, the N5 could be a decent backup phone or affordable handset for kids or folks on a tight budget. It even runs Android 6.0, making it a cheap way to taste Marshmallow.
So, anyone going to pull the trigger on a $150 Nexus 5?
