Rocking a Samsung Galaxy S5 with an AT&T tattoo on its backside? If so, an update is headed your way.
AT&T says that it started pushing an update to its Galaxy S5 on October 22. Perhaps the most notable inclusion is a bump up to Android 5.1.1, which is almost the latest version of Android. Also included in the update is Android for Work, security updates, and a fix for Ultra Power Save mode.
This update is a biggie, weighing at least 609MB, and so you’re going to need to hop onto a Wi-Fi connection before you try to download it. Once you’re on Wi-Fi, head into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates.
While some GS5 owners might be bummed that they’re not getting Android 6.0 today, it’s worth noting that Marshmallow was just released by Google earlier this month, so it’ll take Samsung some time to integrate Android 6.0 with its custom UI. For now, you GS5 owners will have to settle for being on the latest version of Lollipop.
