When Samsung first teased the Galaxy View, it said that we’d learn more about it in October. Before Samsung makes any sort of official announcements, though, it looks like the rumor mill has given us a good look at the huge tablet.
Several images of the Samsung Galaxy View have leaked, showing the device’s ginormous 18.4-inch display as well as its stand. The Galaxy View’s stand allows it to be propped in a more vertical position or to be laid down on a surface at a more horizontal angle. The stand also has a handle, which ought to come in handy for those times that you want to tote this huge tablet around.
Interestingly, the Galaxy View appears to lack a physical home button, something that most every other Samsung Galaxy device has. In its place is a Samsung logo, and in one image we can see what certainly appears to be on-screen navigation buttons.
Samsung appears to have put some thought into the design of this big tablet. It recognized that it might be awkward to carry around the Galaxy View like you would a smaller tablet — just by holding it in your hands — so it’s equipped the device with a handle. The decision to go without a home button is smart, too, because a small home button would probably look silly all by itself on the front of this huge device.
As a reminder, a leak from earlier this month claimed to shed light on the Galaxy View’s specs. The big tablet is rumored to have a display resolution of 1920x1080, 2GB of RAM, an octa-core Exynos processor, 32GB of storage, a 2-megapixel front camera, a 5700mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1.
