The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are going up for pre-order tomorrow, September 12, at 12:01 am PT/3:01 am PT. Because the new iPhone models will be available from every major US carrier, there are a lot of ways to buy the phone. Below you can see how each option breaks down.
AT&T has three different ways to buy a new iPhone. You can use the AT&T Next program, which splits your cost into monthly installments, you can get a traditional two-year contract, or you can just pay for the phone outright.
Sprint’s all about options, giving you four different ways to buy a new iPhone 6s. The one that Sprint is highlighting is iPhone Forever, a lease program that’ll let you upgrade to a new phone every year. If you trade in a phone any time through December 31, you’ll get a special $15 per month rate that you’ll keep until your next upgrade. Sprint also offers its Easy Pay program, which splits the cost of a device across 24 payments, as well as traditional two-year contracts and full price options.
T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand will let you get a new iPhone for $0 down and then make 18 monthly payments. After those 18 months, you can trade in your phone or keep it by paying $164 for the iPhone 6s or $192 for the iPhone 6s Plus. You can also split the full cost in 24 monthly payments, or pay outright.
If you’re getting an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus from US Cellular, you’ve got three options: a 20-month installment plan, a two-year contract, or full retail price.
Verizon’s pretty simple, offering three ways to buy a new iPhone if you’re an existing on-contract customer or just two if you’re not already on a Verizon contract. If you’re already on-contract, you can buy a new iPhone with a two-year contract. If you’re not on contract, you’ve got the monthly installment option or you can pay full price.
For the first time, Apple is offering its own upgrade program, similar to the carriers. With Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, you can spread the cost of your iPhone out over 24 months, after which you’ll own the device. If you want the new iPhone every year, though, you can turn in your iPhone after 12 months and upgrade to a new model. It’s also worth noting that the iPhone Upgrade Program includes AppleCare+ insurance, which alone costs $129 for the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.
Will you be pre-ordering an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus tomorrow? If so, which model will you be getting and which payment method will you be using?
