Last week, Sprint announced that it was celebrating AT&T’s recent acquisition of DirecTV with an offer that’d give DirecTV subscribers a free year of Sprint service. That plan included 2GB of data per month, but some folks felt that wasn’t enough for their needs. Now Sprint has responded by offering even more data with its deal.
Sprint says that starting tomorrow, September 4, it’ll offer two more data options as part of its DirecTV offer. Customers that qualify for the deal can get unlimited talk and text as well as 2GB per month for free, or they can get 4GB of data per line for $10 per month or 6GB for $20. Sprint says that if you already signed up for the 2GB plan but want more data, you can call Customer Care at 1-888-211-4727.
Sprint’s DirecTV offer will be available through September 30. To qualify, you need to be a DirecTV customer and either switch to Sprint or add a line to an existing Sprint plan with Sprint Lease, Sprint Easy Pay, iPhone Forever, or a full retail price device. To sign up, you can upload a recent DirecTV bill online or visit a Sprint store.
While these increased data plans aren’t totally free like the 2GB plan, getting 4GB or 6GB of data for $10 or $20 per month is still a pretty nice deal. So if you’re a DirecTV customer that’s been thinking about jumping to Sprint or adding another line to your Sprint plan, you may want to give this offer a look.
