The rumor mill has suggested that Samsung is working on a gigantic 18-inch tablet, but before the company can officially announce it, Alcatel OneTouch has revealed its own huge tablet.
The Alcatel OneTouch Xess is a Android 5.1 Lollipop tablet with a 17.3-inch 1920x1080 display. Alcatel OneTouch touts the Xess as being a multi-purpose tablet that’s ideal for the kitchen, entertainment, and more. That’s because in addition to its gigantic screen, it’s got a built-in stand that can angle the screen at 75, 50, or 30 degree angles. Rounding out its list of special features is a built-in stylus with a SketchBook app that'll let you turn the 17.3-inch screen into a canvas.
The Xess’s spec list includes an octa-core MediaTek MT8783T processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, a 5-megapixel front camera, dual speakers, USB 2.0, and a 10000mAh battery. All of that is packed into a body that measures 9.15mm thick.
Alcatel OneTouch’s Xess is definitely one of the biggest tablets that we’ve seen, and as such, you may not want to lug it around with you out in the world. It could make for a nice entertainment device around the house, though, giving you a big surface for drawing, watching videos, or playing games (though it might get tiring to hold a 17.3-inch screen up for an extended gaming session).
