Moto X Pure Edition pre-orders are now live, ship later this month

In addition to launching pre-orders of the new Moto 360, Motorola is now taking pre-orders for the Moto X Pure Edition. As expected, the refreshed Moto X starts at $399 for the 16GB model. If you want more internal storage — remember that the Moto X Pure Edition includes a microSD slot — you can bump it up to 32GB for $50 more or 64GB for another $100.

Later on in the customization process, you can choose what kind of back you want on your new phone. The soft grip backside comes in multiple colors and is included in the base price of the phone, but you can upgrade to one of a handful of wood or leather backs for an additional $25.

So when will your new phone start making its way to your doorstep? The exact date will differ depending on how you customize your phone, but it looks like most of ‘em will start going out the week of September 14. I created two phones, a base 16GB soft grip and a 64GB leather-backed model, and the former was given a September 17 ship date while the latter was expected to go out on September 15.

Now that the Moto X Pure Edition is available for pre-order, are you going to pick one up?
