We’ve been getting some good looks at the Android-powered BlackBerry Venice lately thanks to leaked renders, but today the the rumor mill is stepping things up with clear photos of the Venice in the wild.
Vietnamese site Tinhte has posted several photos that show the BlackBerry Venice in the flesh plastic. The phone looks pretty much like it did in the leaked renders that we’ve seen before, sporting a large display that slides up to reveal a BlackBerry-style physical keyboard. On the screen we can see Android Lollipop, complete with Google apps. The top of the phone houses microSD and SIM card slots, and around back is an 18-megapixel camera.
Spec details for the BlackBerry Venice are still light, save for that 18-megapixel rear camera, so we’ll have to continue to wait for that information. The images leaked today give us out best look at the device itself, though, showing us a form factor — the vertical slider — that’s all but extinct in mid-2015. The fact that this is a slider Android phone with a physical keyboard is sure to get the Venice some attention when it launches, as will the news that BlackBerry has made an Android phone. Now we just have to wait to see it come to market so we can find out if it’s any good.
The BlackBerry Venice is rumored to be launching in the US in November on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
