One day after the rumored LG Nexus 5 2015 was shown in render form, the same thing has happened to the other Nexus phone that’s allegedly coming out this year.
The Huawei Nexus, said to be codenamed “Angler,” has allegedly been leaked on video. The render is based off of schematics given to accessory makers. Like the LG Nexus, this Huawei phone has two front-facing speakers and a fingerprint reader on its backside. There’s also a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the unit and a headphone jack up top. Finally, the source of today’s report claims that Huawei has tested 5.5 and 5.7-inch screens for its Nexus, but past reports have said that Huawei settled on the 5.7-inch screen.
Because the render is based on schematics, the colors and build materials shown in this render are speculation. However, it’s suggested that Huawei’s Nexus will use a full metal body. The alleged dimensions for the phone are 159.4mm x 78.3mm x 6.6/8.5mm, with the last measurement being how thick the phone is at its thinnest and thickest points.
If today’s leak ends up holding true, the Huawei Nexus will have a pretty premium feel. That’s not unheard of for a device from Huawei — the recently released P8 has a metal unibody construction — but it’ll make for a nice addition to Google’s Nexus family. As for when the Huawei Nexus might actually be announced, Google has introduced the past several Nexus phones in mid to late October, so we could see the 2015 Nexus handsets debut around that time this year.
