While ZTE unveiled their latest flagship model in the US last week, the company is set to take on a much bigger event in China - the official launch of the Chinese ZTE Axon.
Similar to its US counterpart, the ZTE Axon features some of the latest technology available in a smartphone. The Chinese version of the Axon, however, includes a fingerprint scanner, corning Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass display protection, a dual-SIM card support, and an internal memory of 128GB. Additionally, the Chinese smartphone model is the first device that can be unlocked with the use of three different biometric security measures—voice control, fingerprint, and eye-scan- the first of its kind. NFC payments may also be processed with the use of the fingerprint scanner.
Aside from the Axon smartphone, ZTE has also introduced two other devices to the Chinese market. First, there’s the Axon Watch, the latest ZTE wearable that comes with a 1.4-inch Gorilla Glass display with IP67 certification and sapphire coating, 512MB of RAM, 4GB storage, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 300mAh battery. It runs on Tencent OS and has built-in support for voice and gesture control.
The other device is the Spro 2 Smart Projector, which comes with a built-in 5.0-inch touchscreen and mobile hotspot features. The projector was previously launched in the US under AT&T and Verizon. Its China debut adds voice control functionality to the device.
There’s still no word on whether the Axon Watch will make its way to the US.
