LG Tribute 2 and LG Volt 2 hit Boost Mobile with Android 5.1 in tow

Boost Mobile has launched a pair of new Android smartphones, the LG Tribute 2 and LG Volt 2, which are follow-ups to two handsets that it launched last year.

The LG Tribute 2 includes a 4.5-inch 854x480 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with a secondary front-facing shooter, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 4G LTE, and a 1900mAh battery. It comes preloaded with Android 5.1 and LG’s custom user interface, complete with features like Knock On, which will let you unlock your phone with a personalized tap sequence.

Meanwhile, the LG Volt 2 has a 5-inch 1280x720 display, up from the 4.7-inch 960x540 screen of the original Volt. The Volt 2 also comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 4G LTE, and a 2540mAh battery. Like the Tribute 2, the Volt 2 comes with Android 5.1 and LG’s custom UI.

Both the LG Tribute 2 and the LG Volt 2 are available today, with the former priced at $99.99 and the latter carrying a price tag of $149.99. While both phones have somewhat entry-level specs, they do both come with Android 5.1 out of the box, which is a great feature to see included with affordable phones
