Two mystery HTC phones appear in FCC, appear to be headed for Verizon

The FCC has been a source of information about unannounced phones several times in the past, and now it looks like the agency may have teased a couple of more devices.

A pair of HTC smartphones have been spotted in the FCC database, and while details about them are light, there is a bit that we can gleam from the entries. They feature the model numbers 0PM03100 and 0PM9400, and considering their support of both CDMA and LTE bands 4 and 13, they’re likely Verizon-bound. The 0PM3100 also includes GSM connectivity, which is probably meant to make the phone usable overseas.

Finally, the 0PM3100’s listing says that the FCC label is located “in the battery compartment and is visible to users as they install the SIM card,” suggesting that the phone’s got a removable back cover.

One feature that appears to be missing from both phones is 802.11ac Wi-Fi support. It’s been suggested that that could indicate that these are two budget phones, since that’s a feature that most higher-end phones have had for some time now.

Some of the details that the FCC listings lack include the screen size, OS, and most of the straight-up specs of these phones. There’s also no word on exactly when they might launch, but now that they’ve passed the FCC, they’re at least one step closer to store shelves. Verizon’s launched its fair share of affordable Android phones in the past, including the Desire 612, so these could be devices in that same vein.
