Microsoft’s streak of acquiring popular productivity apps continues again today.
Wunderlist, a popular multi-platform to-do list app, has officially been acquired by Microsoft. 6 Wunderkinder announced the news on its official Wunderlist blog today, saying that nothing about its app will change for now. The Berlin-based team that makes Wunderlist and its variants across iOS, Mac, Android, Windows, and the web will continue to work on those apps. The company went on to tease that it’ll add “a host of new features” in the coming months as it integrates into Microsoft.
This acquisition is the third such deal that Microsoft has done in the past six months or so, following purchases of email app Acompli and calendar app Sunrise. It looks like Microsoft is making a big productivity push, and while its had its own productivity apps for a while, the company looks to be working to improve its services by buying the most popular productivity apps that are already around.
