LG G4 Stylus and G4c debut as variants of LG's Android flagship

The LG G4 family is gaining two new members today.

LG just announced the G4 Stylus and G4c, two new phones that share the G4’s design but have some unique features to help them stand out. The LG G4 Stylus features a 5.7-inch 1280x720 display — which is a bit larger than the G4’s 5.5-inch screen — as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a removable 3000mAh battery. There are two versions of the G4 Stylus coming: the 3G model has a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and 9-megapixel rear camera, while the LTE version’s got a 13-megapixel rear shooter and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor.

As you might’ve guessed from its name, the LG G4 Stylus also includes a pen.  The Rubberdium stylus will help users take notes or just doodle on the phone’s 5.7-inch display.

Meanwhile, the LG G4c is the smallest phone of the bunch. It’s got a 5-inch 1280x720 screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and a removable 2540mAh battery. Also included is LTE connectivity.

Both the LG G4 Stylus and LG G4c will come equipped with Android 5.0 and a host of unique LG software features. Those include Knock Code, Glance View, and Gesture Shot, the last of which will take a sequence of selfies when you make a gesture in the front-facing camera’s view.

The LG G4 Stylus will be offered in Metallic Silver and Floral White color options, while the G4c will be available in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold. They’l both launch in “key strategic markets” in the coming weeks, with pricing details to be shared closer to release. It's worth noting that the LG G4 Stylus is the same phone as the LG G Stylo that was announced in April. The G Stylo recently launched on Boost Mobile in the U.S., and it'll hit MetroPCS, T-Mobile, and Sprint soon.

While the LG G4 Stylus and G4c may not be quite as high-end as the G4 proper, they do have a design similar to the flagship, and their lower-end features will help make that design available to folks that want something a bit more affordable than the LG G4. And what’s notable is that both the LG G4 Stylus and G4c feature two of the G4’s most notable features: a removable battery and a microSD card slot. That’ll likely make them worth a look for a lot of consumers out there.
