When Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in March, it said that the both phones would be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, and Gold Platinum, and they’d each have their own exclusive fourth color. Fast forward three and a half months and those fourth colors are finally launching.
Samsung says that the Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 and Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge are now available for purchase. The company even tapped a real psychologist to explain what types of people are likely to buy the new hues. According to Dr. Donna Dawson, people interested in the Blue Topaz GS6 “are likely to be more self-confident, fastidious, discriminating, sensitive, exacting, and intuitive,” and that the color attracts people “who are both self-assured and know what they like.”
Meanwhile, the Green Emerald GS6 edge will be appealing to people that “tend to be balanced, loyal, hard-working, honest, benevolent, and concerned for others, says Dr. Dawson. “They may aspire to be good citizens with a highly-developed moral sense and a desire for simplicity.
The Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 and Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge are rolling out globally in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants. However, Samsung hasn’t said exactly which markets these colorful GS6 models are currently available in or where they’ll be headed in the future.
Samsung has offered several different color variants for its Galaxy S flagships in the past, including brown, red, and purple, so it’s no surprise to see blue and green GS6 variants arriving now. Now that they’re starting to roll out, it’ll be interesting to see which colors hit which operators around the globe, including in the U.S., where we’ve typically seen several carriers get their own special hues. For example, Verizon has gotten brown and AT&T has gotten red.
Which of these two new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge colors do you think looks better?
