When the HTC One M8 Google Play edition began getting Android 5.1 in early April, HTC’s Mo Versi said that the HTC One M7 GPe’s update would begin rolling out soon after. Fast-forward a little more than a month later and the update has finally arrived.
The HTC One M7 Google Play edition is now getting an update to Android 5.1, build LMY47O. The update weighs in at around 280MB and includes goodies like ignoring Wi-Fi networks with weak connections, the ability to change Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections from Quick Settings, and more. You can check out a video overview of Android 5.1’s new features right here.
If you’re rocking an HTC One M7 GPe, you can head into your Settings app and check to see if your Android 5.1 update is available. If it’s not, you can either be patient and wait for it to arrive, or you can manually flash the OTA that’s been posted by Android Police if you’ve got S-OFF on your phone.
