Following our early peek at a then-unnamed LG Windows Phone for Verizon last month, a cornucopia of details about the device have now leaked out.

Marketing documents leaked by Windows Central have revealed that the phone is called the LG Lancet. The phone appears to be an entry-level Windows Phone device, as its expected to feature a 4.5-inch 854x480 display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, VGA front cam, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 2100mAh battery. On the software side, the Lancet will reportedly run Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 out of the box along with custom LG features like Knock On for double-tap-to-wake and Quick Memo.

There’s no word on how much the LG Lancet will cost at launch, but because its a fairly low-end phone, it shouldn’t be terribly expensive. It’s also unknown when the device will launch, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a release in the near future considering the kinds of leaks that we’ve seen lately.

Certainly the LG Lancet isn’t the high-end Windows Phone device that many WP-ers are waiting for, but we already know that Microsoft is planning two of those devices for later in 2015. For now, Windows Phone will continue to focus on the entry-level, and the LG Lancet could be a good option for folks that want an affordable device. It could also serve as an entry to Windows Phone, getting more consumers hooked on Live Tiles and everything Microsoft, which would be good for the platform.
