Twitter Highlights will deliver a summary of Tweets in a push notification

Sometimes when you don’t open Twitter for hours or more, it can be tough to catch up on everything that you missed while you were away. Now Twitter is rolling out a new feature to address that situation.

Twitter’s new “Highlights” feature will send you a push notification twice per day with Tweets from accounts and conversations that are popular with users that you follow, Tweets from people that you’re tied to, trending topics from your area and network, and more. When you click on the Highlights notification, you’ll be taken to the Twitter app and you can swipe through them individually. When you swipe away the last Highlight, you’ll be taken straight to your main Twitter feed.

Highlights is launching today in English, and it’s available to all Twitter users on Android. To enable Highlights, open Twitter and go to Settings > Your user name > Mobile notifications > Highlights. Twitter says that it’s currently focusing on Highlights for Android and that it’ll “consider” launching the feature on other platforms later on.
