Huawei hasn’t made any announcements about a new Android smartphone that’s coming to the U.S., but Amazon sure seems to think that one is coming.

A new Android handset from Huawei has quietly appeared on Amazon. The device is called the “Huawei Expo” at the top of its product page, but promotional materials that are also in the listing refer to the phone as the “Huawei SnapTo.” Since there are multiple references to the name “SnapTo” in Huawei’s promo materials, it seems likely that that’s the phone’s real name and that “Expo” could be a codename.

Anyway, the Huawei SnapTo is a low-cost Android phone that’ll cost you just $179.99 unlocked. In exchange for your 180 dollar bills, you’ll get an Android 4.4 smartphone with a 5-inch 1280x720 LCD, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, and 1GB of RAM. It’s also got a 2200mAh battery. 

As for the all-important wireless functionality, the Huawei SnapTo supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 850/AWS/1900, and LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 12. That means that this unlocked phone ought to play nicely with AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.

The Huawei SnapTo is currently available for pre-order from Amazon, and the device is expected to launch on April 9. Obviously the SnapTo isn’t the most highly-specced phone around, but it seems perfectly respectable for $180 on-contract. The inclusion of Android 4.4 is a but of a bummer, but you do get LTE connectivity, which is a plus.
