If you’re an AT&T customer that’s rocking a Galaxy S4 and you’ve thus far managed to resist the allure of upgrading to a Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6, you’re going to get rewarded for your will to resist the upgrade chants.
AT&T says that an Android 5.0 update is rolling out to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 today, April 7. The update is a beefy 947MB, so you’re going to need to get onto Wi-Fi before trying to download it. Once you do download and install your update, here’s what you can expect to find:
Android 5.0 Lollipop Highlights
Removal of Code Scanner, Browser Bar and Softcard apps
The Galaxy S4 has been on store shelves for a while now, but with features like a 5-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED display and 13-megapixel camera, the GS4 is still a respectable smartphone for most folks. It was a big phone for Samsung, and while we’ve known for a while now that Sammy was cooking up a Lollipop treat for the GS4, it’s still good to see the update actually rolling out.
If you’ve got an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4, you can check for this update by heading into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates.
