With the launch of the One M9 and Sense 7, HTC added some new software features to its custom Sense user interface like Themes and a Sense Home widget. Now HTC has issued an update to its BlinkFeed app to address those changes.
HTC BlinkFeed is now known as HTC Sense Home, and it’s been updated to include HTC Themes and the Sense Home widget. Using a wallpaper or custom photo, Themes will automatically create a new color palette for Sense and it’ll let you change icons, sounds, and fonts as well. Meanwhile, Sense Home aims to present apps for Home, Work, or Out situations and make them easy to access. Now the new HTC Sense Home app includes those new features, making it easy to update them in the future.
In addition to the name change from BlinkFeed to Sense Home, the app has been updated to gain support for Tumblr in the BlinkFeed.
HTC has pushed many of its Sense UI apps into Google Play, letting it update many of its custom Android apps and push those new features to users much more easily than if it had to push a full software update to devices. That’s evident in today’s update, which can bring new features like Themes to older HTC One models.
HTC has also pushed an update to its HTC Lock Screen app.
