LG G3 now comes with free VR headset in the U.S.

Remember that “VR for G3” promo that LG announced back in early February? Well, nearly two months later, it’s going live.

LG is including a free virtual reality headset with the purchase of a new LG G3 at “participating stores.” LG hasn’t yet specified which retailers are offering the free VR headset. However, the company does note that when you get one, you’ll get a QR code for free VR games.

In addition to giving away free VR headsets with new G3s, LG is giving away 1300 headsets on its Facebook page. Simply comment on LG’s Facebook page by April 13 at 1:00 pm ET for a chance to win.

LG’s VR headset is similar to Google Cardboard, a simple headset that you slot your phone into to begin using. LG’s just made its version out of plastic and also made it a perfect fit for the G3. And while many hardcore Android fans may have turned their attention to the upcoming LG G4, this offer could be a good way to get regular consumers to experience VR.
