Microsoft has only said that its Windows 10 for phones preview would be released sometime after the Super Bowl, which is a pretty wide open window of time. The good news is that a new leak has shown that the update could be coming in the early part of the month.
Newly-leaked screenshots that claim to show the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones have surfaced. The images show the “Update successful” screen, complete with a version number of 8.15.12493.42 and a quote from Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. The others two images include the Action Center, complete with three rows of quick toggles, and the new-look Settings app.
The expandable quick toggles in today’s leak will make it easier for users to adjust their phone’s settings without having to jump into the full-on Settings app. Meanwhile, the Settings app is improved with images and descriptions that’ll make it easier for users to understand what’s inside of each section.
It’s not clear exactly when the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones will be released to all of us regular folk, but at least we’ve got this clear screenshots that give us a better peek at it than we got at Microsoft’s event last month. Here’s to hoping that the full preview is released soon.
