Pull-to-refresh is a widely adopted app feature, and for good reason: it’s intuitive and doesn’t require an extra button in a user interface. Now another app is adopting pull-to-refresh, and it’s a biggie.
Google has announced a new Chrome Beta update that’ll bump the Android app up to version 41.0.2272.34 and add a pull-to-reload feature that works at the top of “most pages”. The update also brings unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements.
Reloading a page in Chrome for Android doesn’t really require a ton of effort, requiring that the user tap the three-button overflow menu and then press a button. Pull-to-reload can make the refresh effort just a bit quicker, though, and it makes the refresh action more like it is in other apps.
Google says that this update to Chrome Beta will roll out in the coming hours, but it’s not appearing on my devices quite yet. If you use Chrome Beta, keep an eye out for it!
