Following a rumor from last week that claimed that Google may be working with Sprint and T-Mobile on an MVNO service, new details on how that service might work have surfaced.

Sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal say that Google’s wireless service might flip between Sprint, T-Mobile, and Wi-Fi signals to provide you with the best signal for your texts, phone calls, and data. The service could roll out in the first half of 2015 and is expected to be made available nationwide.

While still totally unconfirmed, a Google-owned MVNO would make the wireless market quite a bit more interesting than it is now. It’s said that Google’s goal with the MVNO is to offer the best and fastest wireless connection without you having to sign a long-term deal with a carrier, which is exciting for consumers but maybe not quite as much for carriers. Sprint realizes this, as the Now Network has apparently put some “volume triggers” into its deal with Google that would allow it to renegotiate the agreement if the service becomes popular.
