T-Mobile’s Un-carrier 8.0 announcement is happening tomorrow, but if you live in the New York City area, T-Mo’s got some good news for you today.
T-Mobile says that its Wideband LTE service is now available in the greater New York City metro area. That includes Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island and Northern New Jersey. T-Mo says that it’ll bring Wideband LTE to all of Westchester County, including White Planes and Scarsdale, as well as Central New Jersey “soon.”
Wideband LTE brings increased bandwidth and capacity to T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, which results in faster data speeds to T-Mo customers. The magenta carrier says that customers in the NYC metro area are reporting speeds of more than 100Mbps. Now that the greater NYC metro area has been lit up with Wideband LTE, the speedier LTE offering now covers 120 metropolitan areas in 27 major markets. The full list of Wideband LTE metros can be found here.
