Heads up, Google Hangouts users, because a major update is headed your way.
Google today announced an update for its mobile Hangouts apps that introduce a number of new features. The rundown of the new goodies looks like this:
The Hangouts for Android update will be rolling out over the coming hours, and Google says that these new features will hit Hangouts for iOS “soon.” El Goog also notes that the “Last Seen” timestamps feature will roll out in waves over the coming weeks.
Overall this looks like a pretty big update for Hangouts, adding lots of new ways for you to communicate with your friends. For example, we’ve seen stickers become an integral part of many other messaging apps over the past year, and so it makes sense that Hangouts would add the feature as an emoji alternative as well.
Which of these new Hangouts features are you most excited for?
UPDATE: Well, that didn’t take long If you don’t feel like waiting for the Hangouts for Android update to roll out to you, you can now download the .APK from the folks at Android Police.
