Following the debut of the Desire 610 at the start of 2014, HTC is wrapping up the year with an announcement of the 610’s successor.

The HTC Desire 620 boasts a 5-inch 1280x720 Super LCD display and 5-megapixel camera on its face as well as an 8-megapixel camera on its rear. Inside of the 620’s 9.6mm-thick frame will live a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2100mAh battery. Software-wise, the Desire 620 will offer Android 4.4 KitKat beneath HTC’s Sense 6 user interface.

HTC says that we can expect the Desire 620 to launch in the first quarter of 2015 in Marble White, Tuxedo Gray and Saffron Gray hues. Pricing will vary by market, but it’ll likely fall near 280 Euros/$340 dollars unlocked.

The Desire 620 looks like a nice follow-up to the Desire 610. It’s got a refined design with nicer-looking chamfers, a larger and higher-res display, improved front-facing camera and updated processor. All in all it looks like it could follow in the footsteps of its predecessor in being a quality smartphone that’s easy on the wallet.
