Remember the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket? AT&T and Samsung sure do, because the aging phone is getting a software update out of nowhere.
Yes, both AT&T and Samsung’s support sites show that the Galaxy S II Skyrocket recently began getting a software update to build JZO54K.I727UCNJ1. The update is a small one, weighing in at just 12.6MB, and it’s said to include vague “Android OS Enhancements.”
This update is rather unexpected, and since the support docs only say that it’s got some “Android OS Enhancements,” it’s not really clear exactly what’s included. Still, it is nice to see AT&T and Samsung pushing an update to a phone that came out in late 2011, and I’m sure that anyone that’s still rocking this phone will have their day made when they get the update.
