Remember AT&T Rollover? The plan feature would let you roll your unused minutes from one month into another, meaning that you’d eventually build up a massive base of minutes. Well today C Spire Wireless announced a similar offering, but with data instead of minutes.
C Spire’s new Rolling Data plans come in three different sizes — 2GB for $40 per month, 4GB for $55 and — and they all come with unlimited talk and text as well as mobile hotspot support. It’s worth noting that that pricing does not include a device. If you sign a two-year contract, your pricing will jump to $65, $80 and $90.
What makes the plans interesting is that you can roll unused data over in to the next month. You can only roll over a maximum of your monthly allotment, so if you’re on the 2GB plan, you can only roll 2GB, 4GB plan customers can roll 4GB and so on.
C Spire Rolling Data customers can also buy a Data Top Up Pass at 500MB for $10, 1GB for $15 or 3GB for $45. If you don’t use up the entirety of your Data Top Up Pass in one month, that data will roll over into the next.
C Spire’s new plans are what many wireless consumers clamored for back in the day of AT&T’s rollover minutes. The Rolling Data plans can help to cover you if you use a light amount of data one month and then go heavy on the usage the next. Now we just have to wonder if the top four U.S. carriers will roll out similar offerings. Probably not any time in the near future, but hey, it can’t hurt to hope.
