Bad news, HTC One (M8) and One (M7) Google Play edition owners: your update to Android 5.0 Lollipop isn’t coming today.

Mo Versi, HTC’s VP of Product Management, has revealed on Twitter that the Android 5.0 update for HTC’s Google Play edition devices has been delayed. Versi explains that “Google requested one more SW spin.” There’s no word on when the update might be released, but Versi says that he’ll announce when Google approves the new update.

This news is definitely a bummer for One (M8) and One (M7) GPe owners, especially since the update was originally expected to begin rolling out “early” this week. Delays like this happen, though, and it’s good that HTC is keeping us in the loop about what’s going on rather than just staying silent.
