Love Taco Bell? If so, you’re going to love the restaurant’s new app, which allows you to order and pay for food from your phone and then have it ready to be picked up when you arrive at a store.
The Taco Bell app is now available for download on iOS and Android. Once downloaded, you can register your debit or credit card and begin ordering food from the app. You place your order, with the ability to customize items however you’d like. The app will then use your device’s GPS to figure out when you’re within 500 feet of your local store and then alert the employees there to begin making your food.
Once you arrive at your store, you can choose to pick up your food through the drive-thru or in the dining room. If you go the in-store route, you’ll be able to skip the line of non-mobile orderers and pick up your food right away.
Other features of the app include support for paying with Taco Bell gift cards and the ability to rotate your phone into landscape mode to bring up your past orders and reorder them. Taco Bell will also have exclusive offers in its app, like the ability to order a Freeze for $1.00.
The Taco Bell app looks like it’s got a nice design that fits with the company’s theme and also plays well with mobile, offering lots of big images and smartphone-centric capabilities. More and more of our actions are becoming centered on our smartphone, and Taco Bell’s app looks like the restaurants attempt to capitalize on that.
