HTC made quite a few announcements today, including its new Desire Eye smartphone and RE camera action cam. Current HTC users aren’t being left out of the fun, though, as HTC had some good news for many of its existing customers too.

HTC says that the “HTC Eye Experience” that was announced alongside the Desire Eye today will eventually make its way to the HTC One (M7), One (M8), One (E8), One mini, One mini 2, One max, Desire 816, Desire 820 and Butterfly 2. The update will hit those devices “in the coming months.”

As for what’s included, well, there are a number of new features for existing HTC users to look forward to:

• Split Capture - Combines photos and videos from the front and rear cameras into a single split-screen image or video
• Crop-Me-In - Crops your image from the front-facing camera into the action being captured by the rear camera
• Voice Selfie - Lets you say “Say Cheese” to get the front-facing camera to snap a picture or say “Action” or “Rolling” commands to capture video
• Face Fusion - Merge your face with another person’s to get an original look
• Live Makeup - Select how much skin smoothing you’d like on your face and preview it in real time

There are quite a few goodies that are included with the HTC Eye Experience update, but perhaps what’s even more exciting is the number of phones that’ll get the update. Devices like the One (M7) and Desire 816/820 aren’t surprising, but it’s nice to see that some older, less widely-adopted phones like the One mini and One max will get the update as well.
