Gold smartphones are all the rage now, with everyone from Apple to Samsung to HTC to LG getting in on the golden mobile action. The next company to have a gold smartphone in its roster is BlackBerry, but things are a little different with John Chen and Co.
New images of a gold-trimmed BlackBerry Passport have been discovered by the folks at CrackBerry. Rather than a full-on gold front or back, only this Passport’s outer edge is shiny and gold. However, it looks like this model is legit gold, not just colored aluminum or plastic, which would make it a bit more premium than devices from the likes of Apple and Samsung.
There’s not much known about this gold BlackBerry Passport, including even if it comes from BlackBerry itself, but that does look to be the case. It’s unlikely that any of us will ever be able to just pluck one of these handsome handsets off of a shelf, but if you’re the type of person that regularly ponies up for luxurious handsets like BlackBerry’s Porsche Design models, you may want to consider reaching out to your friendly neighborhood BlackBerry contact.
