Last night a leak claimed to offer up details on the Motorola Shamu, aka the next Nexus smartphone. The report even included a mock-up of the device. Now we have something much better than a mock-up, though: a photo of what may be the real device.
A user going by the name “Michael Sudol” has posted an image of what may be the Motorola Shamu in the comments of an Android Police post. The photo shows a device that looks a lot like a bigger version of the Moto X, which is how the Shamu is expected to look. The phone is shown to be a bit taller than the AT&T LG G3, which measures 5.76 inches (146.3mm) tall.
Moving to the side of the Shamu, we can see lock and volume buttons that are centered on the device’s body rather than located near the top like on the Moto X. That also lines up with last night’s leak.
Because the Motorola Shamu is rumored to feature a 5.92-inch display, many have been expected it to be a big phone. This photo really drives that home, though, showing a phone that’s a bit taller than the already-sizable LG G3. Of course, this is all very much a rumor for now. The good news is that it’s rumored that the next Nexus could be announced in October, so it may not be long before all is finally revealed.
