Apple announced today that it sold more than 4 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus preorders in the first 24 hours of availability. The upgraded hardware are larger screens are certainly exciting for iOS fans, but it turns out that Verizon wants to make this launch big for non-iOS users as well.
Starting today, any Verizon customer that’s eligible for an upgrade on or before November 15 will be able to upgrade right now rather than having to wait for their upgrade date to roll around. A screenshot from Verizon’s internal systems that’s been shared by Android Police shows that customers can buy any device using this, including the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Verizon has confirmed this move, saying that you can check your upgrade eligibility by logging into your MyVerizon account.
Verizon says that this special offer will be around for a “limited time,” but it hasn’t specified exactly how limited that time is, so if you’re itching to upgrade, you might want to do it sooner rather than later. While this promo is likely targeted at anyone jonesing for Apple’s new iPhones, it’s a nice opportunity for anyone that wants to upgrade to the LG G3, HTC One (M8) for Windows or some other non-iOS device as well.
Are you eligible for an early Verizon upgrade? If so, which device do you plan on getting?
