Lenovo may not be a name that springs to the minds of most American consumers when you’re talking smartphones, but the company’s been putting out some high-end hardware for a while now in other parts of the globe, and today it introduced its latest pieces of Android kit.

First up is the Lenovo Vibe X2, which Lenovo describes as “the world’s first layered smartphone.” What does that mean? Glad you asked, friend. The Vibe X2 features a design with three layers: black bottom and top layers with dark gray and light silver slabs smack dab in the middle.

When it comes to specs, the Lenovo Vibe X2 offers a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, MediaTek True8Core processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and 32GB of storage. Lenovo’s also got a couple of unique accessories for the Vibe X2: the Vibe X2 Battery, which adds up to 75 percent battery life, and the Vibe X2 Speaker for amplifying the device’s sound output. Both accessories add a fourth layer to the X2 itself.

Lenovo also too the wraps off of the Vibe Z2 today. The Vibe Z2’s got a large 5.5-inch 1280x720 display and 64-bit, 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor crammed into its 7.8mm thick frame. The Vibe Z2’s also packing a 3000mAh battery, 32GB of storage, 4G LTE, a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter.

Both the Vibe X2 and Vibe Z2 will launch in China in October, followed by launches in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Pricing will be set at $399 for the Vibe X2 and $429 for the Vibe Z2.
