Good news for big families that are interested in T-Mobile, because that Simple Choice family plan expansion that leaked out over the weekend is now official.
T-Mobile now allows users to have up to 10 lines and 5 mobile Internet connections on a family account. As was rumored, the first 6 lines get unlimited talk, text and 2.5GB of data per month for $120. After January 2, 2016, that data amount will drop to 1GB per month.
Adding lines 7-10 requires a bit more effort. In order to get those additional lines, you’ll need to either call a T-Mobile salesperson on the phone or visit a retail store; you can’t simply add them online. Those additional plans will set you back $20 per month each.
At $120 for the first 6 lines and $20 for each additional line up to 10, this expanded T-Mobile family plan seems like a nice deal for folks with lots of phones to attach to a plan. There are a couple details worth keeping in mind, like the fact that each line gets 2.5GB rather than everyone drawing from a single bucket and the bit about each line dropping to 1GB once January 2, 2016 rolls around. If you can get past those 2 conditions, then you can sign up for T-Mo’s expanded family plan right here.
