Following its launch of the Xperia Z1, Sony came forward with a “mini” version of the device known as the Xperia Z1 Compact. Now it looks like Sony is planning to add a tablet to its line of Compact hardware.
A user guide (PDF link) for Sony’s BSC10 Bluetooth Speaker with Magnetic Charging Pad has outed an unannounced “Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.” The BSC10 includes three attachments that can fit into the charging dock to hold certain Sony hardware, and in the list of products that are compatible with the BSC10A attachment is an Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact along with the Xperia Z3 Tablet and Xperia Z Ultra.
Unfortunately, while this user guide has outed the “Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact” name, it doesn’t reveal any spec details of the device. Given that the Xperia Z1 Compact was a shrunken version of the Xperia Z1, it seems likely that the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will be a small-size tablet with a 7 or 8-inch screen. Here’s to hoping that, with IFA right around the corner, it won’t be long before Sony spills all of the beans on its Compact tablet.
