Following a leak in April that purportedly spilled some details on the unannounced “Nokia Superman,” some images of the device itself have made their way online, and this hero’s got some interesting software on it.
The folks at WPCentral have shared two images that claim to show the Nokia Lumia 730m aka “Nokia Superman,” donning a green backside — a shade not unlike the Lumia 930’s back cover — and a rear camera with LED flash. The device is clearly labeled as being “prototype property of Nokia.”
Flipping around to the front, we can see that it claims to be running software known as “Lumia Debian Red.” This is indeed a color, as WPCentral notes, but it’s likely a codename like “Lumia Cherry Blossom Pink” was for the Lumia Cyan update. The Lumia 730 in these photos has on-screen navigation buttons and a front-facing shooter.
It’s suggested that this Lumia 730 is the “Superman,” which is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch screen and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Superman is said to be a selfie-focused smartphone, so it’s likely that marketing for the 730 would focus on its front-facing cam.
While the Lumia 730 is likely a mid-range handset, it still looks like a solid little piece of kit. It ought to be a nice option for folks in the hunt for an affordable smartphone, especially those that are interested in Windows Phone but don’t want the Lumia 635 due to its lack of a front-facing camera.
