Last week we got our first peek at the new Samsung Galaxy Alpha, including a comparison photo with the Galaxy S5 that showed that the Alpha may be a slightly lower-end version of the S5. Now a new leak has surfaced that supports that theory.
The folks at SamMobile have gotten hold of a screenshot purportedly from Samsung’s developer console that shows that the Galaxy Alpha will have a display resolution of 1280x720. The page also refers to the device as the “Galaxy Alpha LTE,” suggesting that the device will come to market with the “Galaxy Alpha” name in tow.
Today’s news of the Galaxy Alpha’s 720p resolution is kind of a bummer considering the rumors suggesting that the Alpha could be a premium device with an aluminum edge and fingerprint scanner. While we’ll have to wait longer for the Galaxy Alpha’s full spec list to be revealed, the rumors suggesting that it’s got a 720p display and no microSD slot hint that it’ll be a mid-range handset. The wait for the oft-rumored premium Samsung Galaxy smartphone continues!
