Apple today made a big enterprise move that could help it to become a much larger business presence.
Apple has announced that it’s teaming up with IBM to make an enterprise push that will “address key industry mobility challenges and spark true mobile-led business change.” The two companies will produce:
The partnership will also see IBM sell iPhones and iPads that are preloaded with these enterprise features.
While the consumer market is important to Apple, the enterprise is just as big a deal. This partnership with IBM can help make iOS devices much more useful as work tools, push IBM’s enterprise offerings and potentially give Apple a nice iOS sales push. Teaming up with an established enterprise player like IBM could also help Apple steal business market share.
